Patriotic Citizen Initiatives (PCI), a local organization aiding Nigerian asylum seekers and human trafficking survivors, has deepened its relationship with Denmark through the Danish Refugee Council (DRC).

PCI joined forces with DRC in March 2023, as confirmed in a recent statement from the Daily Times. DRC has already supported the return of two Nigerian individuals from Denmark, and one reintegration plan has received approval from Danish authorities.

According to PCI Director, Comrade Osita Osemene, the Denmark delegation’s visit to Nigeria was aimed at understanding reintegration assistance and sharing information about the Danish asylum system. The primary focus is knowledge sharing and capacity building to improve procedures in both Nigeria and Denmark.

During the visit, DRC and PCI reviewed procedures, quality, frameworks, and reintegration assistance templates. They also explored Nigerian states actors and institutions involved in migration, return, and reintegration.

The mission seeks to enhance knowledge exchange, upgrade counselling quality, and strengthen the partnership between PCI and Denmark for better refugee care.

The following photos capture a glimpse into their visit.
